About Diocese of Austin

Bishop Louis J. Reicher was named first bishop of the Diocese of Austin. From offices at Newman Hall on the edge of the University of Texas campus, Bishop Reicher guided 55 parishes and 43 missions, as well as 87 priests, 196 sisters and 24 brothers. On March 8, 2010, Bishop Joe S. Vásquez was installed as the fifth bishop of Austin after serving as the auxiliary bishop of the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston since 2002. On Jan. 21, 2015, Most Rev. Daniel E. Garcia, who was born and raised in Cameron, was named the first auxiliary bishop in the history of the Austin Diocese. He was ordained a bishop on March 3, 2015. Today, the Catholic population of the diocese stands at roughly 700,000. About 225 priests currently serve in the diocese, along with more than 400 deacons and vowed religious and countless lay men and women. These dedicated servants offer their time and talent to 126 parishes, missions and university centers in the diocese where they serve as catechists, teachers, liturgical ministers, parish social ministers, youth ministers and more. There are 20 Catholic schools in the diocese; along with campus university centers, these institutions provide important formation that complements catechetical formation happening in parish life.

Why Did Diocese of Austin Decide To Partner With Qvinci?

Challenges
The collection and consolidation of parish and school financial data was time consuming, impacting productivity and decision making.
Solution
Qvinci’s diocesan financial management solution enabled customized reporting on location data across the Diocese of Austin.
Results
With Qvinci in place, Austin now has faster access to enhanced insights into the financial health of its parishes and schools, driving more impactful and data-driven decision making.
The Problem
Years ago, the Diocese of Austin was spending an inordinate amount of time collecting financial information from its parishes and schools— time that could be better spent analyzing data and supporting leadership. An initial CathoNet implementation worked, however the solution was sunsetted. Right Networks recommended
Qvinci as a replacement for CathoNet. After speaking with other dioceses that use Qvinci, Austin decided to move forward with Qvinci to address their financial management reporting needs.

The Qvinci Solution

Thanks to Qvinci’s flexible and modular design, the Diocese of Austin was able to choose the reporting desired to create a customized solution and experience a more rapid ROI.
